RMA Instructions
Click here to print out and fax the RMA form.

Before you return defective product or send stock-balance shipments, you need to follow these procedures:

  • Request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number; see the How To Get An RMA Number section below.
  • Write the RMA number on the original shipping label, not on the box. Include one RMA per carton.
  • Shipments can include merchandise that is being returned for different reasons, such as DOA vs. stock balancing, but a separate RMA number is required for each SKU and condition.

How To Get An RMA Number
Contact our Customer Service Department to request an RMA number. There are two ways you can do this:

  • Via Our Web Site
We have a convenient electronic RMA form which you can fill out and submit via fax. The form can include up to five SKUs.

  • By Phone
Dial 301-596-1884 to talk to one of our representatives. When you call, please have your customer number and our SKUs and product descriptions handy.

Things To Know About RMAs
RMAs are valid for no longer than 30 days from issuance. Return conditions are limited by Manufacturers' Policies & Warranties. Customers are responsible for return-freight charges on stock-balance shipments.

Non defective, non-DOA returns are subject to a minimum 50-cents per-item charge for shrink-wrapping, sticker removal and other return-related tasks. Pack return cartons carefully to prevent damage in transit. Don't write on manufacturers' boxes; product must be in resalable condition to receive credit.

For efficient return-shipment execution and to ensure that you receive credit due, please follow all procedures above. Failure to follow procedures may result in product being returned to you at your expense.

You've just received an order delivery. But when you pick up a box, you hear the telltale rattling of loose or broken components. You open the box and your fears are confirmed -- damaged product. What do you do? Fortunately, you purchased the product from FedTek, and we stand behind the products we carry with fair policies and efficient service.

To credit your account or to have a replacement shipped to you, contact our Customer Service Department within 90 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise limited by Manufacturers' Policies & Warranties . If all policies are met, a customer service representative will issue a credit memo with which you can make future purchases.

If you're a c.o.d. customer, you may request a replacement on a defective return.

What To Do
If you receive defective product, contact FedTek Customer Service to request an RMA number or, for even quicker request submission, use our online RMA form. When you receive your RMA number, return the product with all its documents and components in the original packaging. We only ask that you put the RMA number on the original invoice and not write on the box.

At your request, FedTek will pay for ground-freight expenses for defective and DOA products returned to us. Also, if you request, we will pay for express service for defective replacements -- except for large or heavy hardware items, or items valued at less than $100 -- when next-day ground service is not available.

FedTek tests all returned defective and DOA products. If a product is found not to be defective, it will be returned to you with inbound and outbound shipping costs paid at your expense.

Manufacturer Limits
Some manufacturers require that all defective and DOA product be returned directly to them, or they may limit the time frame in which to return product. For specific information, see Manufacturers' Policies & Warranties. For defective systems information, see System Return Policies.
